Petronas announced that its first floating LNG facility on the Kanowit gas field, PFLNG Satu, has achieved a new milestone with the successful loading of its first cargo.
The first cargo which was also the first ever LNG cargo produced by a FLNG facility in the world, was fully loaded onto the LNG carrier 150,200-CM Seri Camellia as it is expected to set sail for "a South Asian market".
PFLNG Satu manned by 145 crew onboard is designed for water-depths of between 70-M and 200-M and possesses a processing capacity of 1.2 MMT/Y of LNG.
“PFLNG Satu will complement Petronas’ global LNG portfolio, making it a leader in the FLNG technology and enhancing its reputation as a preferred and reliable LNG supplier,” the Malaysian state-run company said in its announcement.
Petronas has expected that PFLNG Satu will achieve its commercial operations by June 2017.
