Cheniere Energy has said that its Corpus Christi LNG 3rd stage project (CCL Stage 3) is 55.9% complete (engineering 89.3%, procurement 74.8%, subcontract work 75.4% and construction 16.5%).

The project’s first LNG production from its first train “is currently forecast to be achieved at the end of 2024” with substantial completion expected for the first half of 2025 and second half of 2026.

According to the Global LNG Database®, the CCL Stage 3 project is a fully permitted project consisting of up to 7 midscale trains, each with liquefaction capacity of about 1.49 MMT/Y of LNG with a total production capacity of more than 10 MMT/Y.

Cheniere Energy is also developing two midscale trains with an expected total production capacity of approximately 3 MMT/Y of LNG (CCL Midscale Trains 8 & 9 project) adjacent to the CCL Stage 3 Project.

In addition, Cheniere Partners is developing an expansion adjacent to its current Sabine Pass LNG export plant with an expected total production capacity of up to approximately 20 MMT/Y of LNG (SPL Expansion Project).

“We pursue LNG capacity expansions at both Sabine Pass and Corpus Christi, which will enable our customers to realize the energy security, reliability, and environmental benefits of our LNG,” said Jack Fusco, Cheniere’s CEO.
