Woodside has signed a revised lump sum turnkey engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract with Bechtel for the development of the three trains 16.5 MMT/Y Louisiana LNG project (formerly Driftwood LNG).
According to the
Global LNG Database®, Woodside has completed the acquisition of Tellurian and its under-development Driftwood LNG project via an approximately $1,200 million deal in October. The Australian operator has also renamed the Driftwood LNG to the Woodside Louisiana LNG project.
Woodside is targeting FID on the Louisiana LNG in the first quarter of 2025, as the project is fully permitted, its FEED is complete, and site civil works are well advanced and Bechtel having “completed substantial work to advance the opportunity to this stage.”
Bechtel has worked on site since the acquisition and will continue work under a limited notice to proceed (LNTP) executed under the revised EPC contract, Woodside said, adding that The LNTP provides for continued site construction and commitment to certain key materials and services required for the foundation project.
“Total Louisiana LNG expenditure from December to end of the first quarter of 2025 is forecast to be up to $1.3 billion, which is included in the overall estimated cost for the foundation development.”
